Summary
The selected candidate will be responsible for driving the transition of new features from the Innovations team into development platforms and ultimately into new IR and RF Remote Control products. The individual will be the main interface between the Innovations and Design Engineering groups. The position requires understanding of the products from the system architecture level through component level design. The ideal candidate will have a broad background and understand product development from concept through development and into high volume production.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining familiarity with features under investigation by the Innovations team.
Identifying existing platforms to modify in order to prototype these new features. Technical analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, and troubleshooting of these new features. Transitioning proven new features to the Design Engineering team for integration into final products.
Qualifications
BSEE with 6+ years experience required.
In depth understanding of microprocessor architecture, memory devices, display technologies (color LCD etc), interface (USB, UART, SPI, I2C) technologies, power control circuitry, and analog design.
Familiar with wireless design including ASK, FSK, Z-Wave and Bluetooth technologies.
Skilled in engineering design, analysis, integration, debug, manufacturing, and documentation tools.
Working knowledge of common computer tools including MS Office, Schematic Capture, and PCB layout tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, collaborative skills, cross-functional interface skills, analytical skills and problem solving capabilities are essential. Ability to effectively present technical concepts, ideas and information in terms that both engineers and non-engineers can understand.
